I've had this new XC60 since December and still cannot smoothly start from a dead stop. Even with very slow and easy starts the car seldom speeds up smoothly and often has sudden bursts of acceleration.

Is this inherent in the XC60 or is there something possibly wrong with my vehicle? I've never had this problem with another SUV before.

I recently got this s60 t6 awd with polestar badging, it’s great outside of some issues.

One of which is getting my doors to unlock using the “smart key”(not sure whether it’s the type that unlocks upon getting close). I’ve been using the manual key but the siren alarm always goes off.

I got 2 keys both of which lock the car remotely but every other function fails(no unlock, trunk, siren etc) every button just locks the car, except I was able to get it to unlock once for reasons I can’t explain.

I can unlock the doors from the inside drivers side buttons. Can rule out key fob battery, door latch/actuators, I don’t think it needs a reprogramming but honestly not sure. I think there is something wrong within the cars electrical systems but I don’t really have much evidence outside of both the keys presenting similar symptoms. Any ideas?

I need a suggestion about the direction to look for the resolution of the following fault:

Drove the car for 150km after the change of the exhaust manifold gasket….then suddenly the engine started with “hick-ups”….then after a few seconds it indicated the DSCT fault, RPM indicator dropped to zero and the engine dropped to reduced engine performance mode. Then I could drive and got to the workshop.
Then, if I turn it on it started with problems …..rev-up-down-up-down-off, then after few times it would show DSTC error and again “reduced…”.

On the computer engine check the error was “crankshaft position sensor data fault”.

Now after the engine cooled down completely it would not even reach the “reduced mode”. It turns off after 3-4 seconds of start-up procedure.

Could anyone point me to possible faults / checks / already experienced procedures for checking the parts?!
How often it the “crankshaft position sensor” faulty?…or DSTC system that can cause such problems?

Thanks!

Hey all, I just purchased a 2013 XC60 T6 that has 126,000 miles. Beautiful car and it drives great. There is just one flaw I have noticed.

A few days ago when coming into my driveway, I pulled in and put the car in reverse, backed up, and when I put the car into drive I heard a little buzz and the car lurched forward. It did this everytime you’d shift into drive. Only into drive.

Fast foward to today. After drying the car off I backed out of the space and when I put it into drive it did the thing again. It would do it if you went back to reverse then drive again. This time I kept the car on and proceeded to drive home. It shifted fine and drove fine. I pulled over and put the car into park, then into drive and it shifted normally again.

Is this a software thing or perhaps should I try a drain-and-fill on the tranny fluid? Should I try and have my friend use his scanner to clear the tranny adaptations?

Help appreciated, thanks.

I usually run a spare wheel install and drive test on every new car (to us), but somehow this one got skipped... Extensive search of the car yielded nothing.

Unfortunately, my 2004 XC90 (with 250K miles and counting) is now too expensive to fix--there's an exhaust leak that comes in when the windows are open, and the a/c just died. Some "cosmetic" stuff, too: headliner detached, front seats shot, parking lot victim of scrap/dent on door, radio barely works, sunroof and windshield leaks repaired with caulk (windshield was apparently replaced before we bought the car in 2012 and whoever did it chipped the paint around the glass so some rust, too).

Anyway, we just found a 2006 XC90 2.5l, AWD on the lot of a nearby (11784) small used car dealer. It was 170K miles, recently inspected, and apparently has been sitting in the lot since Sept. He wants $3888 (he started out closer to $6K in Sept and dropped the price twice). The seam in the leather of the driver's seat has split so needs sewing, a few minor paint chips around the license plate, no apparent leaks or telltale signs thereof, original Volvo windshield, tires good. Everything else looks ok. Oh, from their "detailing," the car still reeks of the chemicals they used so we have to get rid of that smell and the off-gassing (gives me a headache and can set off breathing problems with my husband) so we need to try to get rid of that (not as bad as some cars we've seen since it probably was done last year). Going over there tomorrow to inspect it further, test drive, etc. Any thoughts about whether this sounds like a good buy? a car that will make it to 250K plus miles, etc.? things we should look out for or future repairs to expect with this year/model?

The guy also has a 2012 or 2013 XC90 or XC60 AWD with less than 90K miles. He said he just got in, We'll also look at that tomorrow (we had looked at the cars on the lot yesterday after the place was closed and the owner was just leaving so we didn't really get a chance to find out more than what I've told you. Any thoughts?

Thanks so very, very much! Donna
BTW: we got our first car, a 1988 240, in 1993, the second, a 1989 240, in 2002. The first one was totalled by a kid in a pickup truck--the 240 had some bumpertrunk damage) but the Honda the pickup pushed it into was accordioned and the pickup rolled over our Volvo and landed on its side. No one hurt except my heart--I loved that 1988 240!

Olá boa tarde 😊
Sou de Portugal e tenho um Volvo S40 t4..
O carro está em muito bom estado e ando a tentar por tudo mesmo impecável ..
A questão é a seguinte ;
Obrigada 👍
